Simple, age-appropriate books for teenagers and young adults with special needs. Reading age 7. We are established special needs publishers of printed books and CDROM activities for 14-19 year olds. This app lets young people read our best-selling books (based on life skills and the everyday experiences of young people), on iPads and iPhones.

• Listen to the books being read to you
• Read them for yourself
• Record your own version as you read
• Create your own recorded ‘hotspots’ – a very simple but ingenious tool you can use for sound effects, reading prompts, discussion starters, questions to assess understanding – dozens of teaching and learning applications

SEN Press was founded by Peter and Christine Clarke whose son has Downs Syndrome. When Adam reached his teens it was clear that there was very little out there that he would be interested in reading. That’s what we set out to rectify.

Teachers tell us we have succeeded. These are just some of the comments we have had on our printed resources:

“At last a company that has addressed this age old problem, appropriate materials for older students with learning difficulties. These are excellent resources.” Neil Mears, St Philip’s School, Chessington

“You are the first publisher in my 20-year teaching experience to produce exciting, relevant material at the right level for my students.” Ian Wray, Suffolk One, Ipswich

“Excellent to support PSHE and emotional aspects of learning.” Victoria Greenhalgh, Redwood School, Rochdale

“Excellent resources to support Life Skills programmes in special schools.” Heather Fry, ASDAN
